2. Brandon Drury

The Yankees caught a lot of people off guard by leaving Drury in the minors after he came off the disabled list this week. That could say a lot about his future with the organization.

On the surface, Drury is just the sort of player that could fit perfectly on the Yankees bench. He has swung the bat well this season and he can play multiple positions. Unfortunately, the team doesn’t seem to have a ton of confidence in him. If they did, he would replace Ronald Torreyes on the Yankees bench.

The good news for Yankee fans is that Drury should be a very attractive commodity on the trade market. If he can stay healthy for a few weeks, the team should be inundated with calls about his availability. If that happens, the Yankees could end up with a meaningful prospect in a deal for Drury.

It must be acknowledged that Drury does have a significant chance to work his way back into the Majors soon. It wouldn’t surprise anyone to see him take Torreyes or Austin’s spot on Boone’s bench in the near future. If it doesn’t happen soon, he could be a starter somewhere else before the Trade Deadline arrives.
