Which players will your favorite team land in the 2018 NBA Draft? We’ll find out on June 21.

The 2018 NBA Draft could be a transformative night for a handful of fortunate franchises.

Arizona center Deandre Ayton and Real Madrid swingman Luka Doncic will battle for the right to be selected first overall, although both players have the potential to emerge as long-term building blocks. Teams in need of a big man will have no shortage of options from which to choose among Michigan State’s Jaren Jackson Jr., Duke’s Marvin Bagley III and Wendell Carter and Texas’ Mo Bamba, while Oklahoma guard Trae Young will give an immediate boost to any team lacking a lead guard.

Those aren’t the only prospects who will be on the tip of general managers’ tongues during the 2018 draft, however.

Villanova’s Mikal Bridges appears to be a quintessential 3-and-D swingman. Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Alabama’s Collin Sexton could be late-lottery targets for point guard-needy teams. Missouri forward Michael Porter Jr. entered college as one of the highest-ranked players in his class, but he’s one of the most high-risk, high-reward players in the draft after missing much of the season due to a back injury. Meanwhile, Michigan State forward Miles Bridges, Texas Tech 2-guard Zhaire Smith and Texas A&M big man Robert Williams could become quick fan favorites for whichever franchises select them.

If recent years are any indication, general managers also will attempt to grease the wheels on trades in the days and weeks leading up to the draft. We might not see another blockbuster like last year’s swap between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics involving the No. 1 overall pick, but don’t be surprised if some All-Star-caliber player winds up finding a new home.

In other words, expect the unexpected come June 21.
