The rookie second baseman has captivated Yankee fans with terrific his play as of late. He may have started his MLB career a little slowly, but he’s really picked up his performance over the last 30 days.
Over that time period, Torres has the second highest batting average on the team with a mark of .319. His power numbers can still use some improvement, but he is starting to show real pop at the plate.
More important than the statistics, Torres is starting to look more and more comfortable playing on the big stage. He’s starting to produce clutch hits and key plays in the field. If Torres gets over the nerves of being a rookie he could be the team’s X-factor for the rest of the season.

Gleyber Torres best years are still ahead of him, but it doesn’t mean 2018 isn’t going to be a meaningful year of his career. It’s very possible his first season in a Yankee uniform could end with a World Series appearance.
