The first Rage didn’t really live up to all the hype, but Rage 2 is looking to change that. The new gameplay trailer looks ridiculously awesome.

The past couple of days, Bethesda has been teasing a new game. Prior to the official announcement, almost everyone was saying it was Rage 2, and it turns out they were right. On Monday, Bethesda released an announcement trailer, which confirmed a new gameplay trailer a day after. After seeing said gameplay, this is the Mad Max game we’ve been waiting for.

It’s evident developer Avalanche Studios is highly inspired by George Miller’s Mad Max series. Plus, it isn’t the first time the developer has visited the world of Mad Max game since it released a game based on the property back in 2015. It wasn’t bad. In fact, it was actually pretty good, but it could have been better. Rage 2 most definitely looks awesome, and we’re looking forward to it.

With Bethesda also involved, there are plenty of other inspirations such as Fallout. There are even some Borderlands vibes, if we’re being honest. If Rage 2 can bring the best out of all these franchises while still having its own originality, then we’re in for something special.

Check out the trailer below:

From the trailer, we can see there will be plenty of guns to use, a variety of different characters and creatures, and a vast world to explore. This is a game, at least we hope, that demands creativity.

Check out premise below as well:

"In the year 2185, humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule who remains with an iron fist. You are Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. Robbed of your home and left for dead, you’ll tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed to take the fight to The Authority and crush their oppressive rule once and for all!"
