Marseille face Atletico Madrid in the Europa League Final on Thursday. The French side will have a home-field advantage as the final is played at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, less than a four-hour drive from Marseille.

Marseille needed extra time to eliminate Red Bull Salzburg in the semifinal to advance to the final. The Olympians are fourth in Ligue 1 heading into the final weekend of the domestic season. Domestically, Marseille are undefeated in their last seven games, picking up 15 points. Florian Thauvin has been incredible this season. The former Newcastle player has scored 26 goals and has 18 assists in all competitions this season. The French winger will need to have a big game Wednesday if Marseille are going to walk away with the trophy. The French side have struggled to defend this season, allowing the eighth-most goals in Ligue 1. The return of keeper Steve Mandanda from injury and will likely face a lot of shots on Wednesday. After picking up a red card in Marseille’s last game, Mandanda has to be on his game.

Atletico Madrid eliminated Arsenal in the semifinal. Diego Simeone’s side are second in La Liga but have struggled lately. Over their last five games, Atletico have picked up only seven points. After dealing with injuries to their defense, Atletico Madrid head into the final with a healthy squad. Atleti’s front two of Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa will drive the attack. Griezmann’s speed and Costa’s power and strength make the duo difficult for defenses to deal with.
