The Supernatural season finale forces Sam and Dean Winchester to make a hard choice. Here’s the Supernatural season 13, episode 23 synopsis.

Sam and Dean Winchester are in serious trouble in this week’s episode Supernatural, according to The CW‘s official description of the Supernatural season finale.

Thursday’s last episode of season 13 is called “Let The Good Times Roll,” and we’re going to guess that’s used ironically because there doesn’t seem to be anything good coming up in this episode. Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) have reached a point of no return in their ongoing struggle to help good prevail over the forces of evil, because we know that one of the brothers will make an “impulsive” choice that could change both their lives.

Could that be Dean, who tends to act more impulsively than his brother and has a shorter fuse, plus has particularly been through a lot of crap trying to save Mary (Samantha Smith) throughout much of this season? Or will the normally even-tempered Sam have to do something from a place of desperation as the season-long battle reaches its conclusion? There’s cases to be made on either side here, but whatever happens, it sounds like it’s going to end this season on a rough note if not an outright cliffhanger.

At least we know there’s going to be a resolution, because The CW has already renewed the show for another season. But nobody said Supernatural season 13 had to leave the characters in any kind of good place! You’ll have to tune in Thursday to see just how bad the good times wind up being.

Here’s how The CW officially describes the episode:

"Our heroes, Sam and Dean Winchester, continue to be tested in the battle between good and evil, but one impulsive decision could alter the lives of the brothers forever."
