Here’s a roundup of the latest news and transfer rumors from across the soccer world. Find out which players could be joining new teams this summer.
The highlight of Friday’s transfer rumors is that Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the report, Martial is currently unsettled at Manchester United and growing frustrated at the lack of first team appearances he has been given. United have a hugely talented attacking roster, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford all wanting starting spots.
Martial has been a bit-part player this season and has struggled to nail down a preferred position, and the Frenchman was omitted from United’s matchday squad in the last game of the season. Martial has also been left out of the French squad for this year’s World cup. Which hasn’t help dampen the speculation linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are still keen to sign Napoli midfielder Jorginho according to Sky Sports. Jorginho is among a number of targets Pep Guardiola has shortlisted to strengthen his side for next season.
Manchester City are looking to replace club legend Yaya Toure, who confirmed he is set to leave City this summer.
Jorginho has impressed during his time in Naples, attracting interest from a host of top clubs including Arsenal and Barcelona.
It’s reported that City have already made an approach to Napoli regarding the availability of Jorginho. Napoli value the midfielder in excess of $70 million, however it remains to be seen if City are willing to match Napoli’s valuation.
