The Las Vegas Aces start their first 2018 WNBA season on the road against the Connecticut Sun. Here’s all the information you need to watch online.
The San Antonio Stars finished the 2017 WNBA season with the worst record in the league, a discouraging 8-26. They’re hoping a move to Las Vegas, a rebrand as the Aces and the addition of No. 1 draft pick A’ja Wilson will help turn things around. Joining Wilson, who starred in the post for the University of South Carolina the past few seasons, in the starting lineup will be the No. 1 pick from the 2017 WNBA draft, Kelsey Plum. No woman scored more points in NCAA history than Plum, but she struggled in her rookie season, unable to find her rhythm from the field. The Aces will be hoping young talent wins out, and looking to get their season off on the right foot.
The Sun finished last season with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, at 21-13. However, a promising season ended early with a first-round playoff loss to the Phoenix Mercury. Jonquel Jones led the Sun in scoring and rebounding last season at 15.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, while shooting better than 50 percent from the field and 40 percent on 3-pointers. Jones was late arriving to training camp but is reportedly in great shape and will be featured for Connecticut as they look to being their season with a win.

The WNBA has also announced an incredible initiative this season, donating $5 from the sale of every ticket to a charitable organization chosen from a slate of options by the purchaser. In addition, the league will donate an additional ticket to send a young woman or girl to a future WNBA game. If you’re in a WNBA city and have a chance to attend a game in person this year, don’t miss your chance to see top notch basketball and do some good.
