The best 30 players at the World Cup
By James Dudko
6. Luis Suarez, striker, Uruguay
Luis Suarez is still one of the most exciting players to watch when he’s in full flow. The 31-year-old has stayed among the goals with Barcelona, while his ability as a link player is second to none.
Suarez has often used his skills at the tip of Uruguay’s attack. Yet it might be wise for coach Oscar Tabarez to adjust some positions along his forward line.
Four years ago, Suarez led the line while Cavani played in a slightly withdrawn position. However, the latter role would suit Suarez best thanks to his gliding pace, slalom runs and keen eye for a pass.
Suarez playing provider for Cavani would give Uruguay a two-pronged attack to rival any at the tournament. It would also offer Suarez his best chance to finally boss a World Cup.
One of the best players of his generation is still good enough to help Uruguay make history.
