The best 30 players at the World Cup

23. Roberto Firmino, striker, Liverpool
Brazil’s attacking arsenal is truly scary, but it’s not all about Neymar. The world’s most expensive player will receive ample support from a number of Premier League stars, including Roberto Firmino.
He’s the fluid-moving and quick-thinking focal point of Liverpool’s devastating front three. The Reds simply aren’t as expansive and prolific without Firmino working from the middle.
His game is all about a varied and perceptive range of movement. Firmino vacates the middle to clear the way for runs off the flanks, while his passes are usually perfectly weighted to release fellow attackers in behind.
Aside from his quality link work, Firmino is no slouch in the scoring department. His 26 goals for Liverpool are evidence of a finisher maturing in front of goal.
If Brazil are smart they’ll allow this perfect mix of a classic No. 9 and a natural No. 10 to underpin an attacking contingent also featuring Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Philippe Coutinho, Douglas Costa and Willian.
