Tigers at Twins

Tigers Probable Starter – Matthew Boyd, LHP

3.19 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21.1 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .140 average, .186 wOBA, 51.5 fly ball rate and 39.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .237 average, .290 wOBA, 46.6 fly ball rate and 28.8 hard contact rate

I likely won’t go in this direction, but Boyd might actually be usable tonight. He’s actually not a bad pitcher and you’ll have to decide if you believe Boyd can maintain his dominance against lefties or not. Minnesota has plenty of lefties in their lineup but a player like Max Kepler actually hits lefties pretty well. Nobody is going to play Boyd and at least for cash games, this side of the game is very bland. If Brian Dozier was hitting better, this would be a decent spot for him but he’s so cold and the discount on him isn’t much.

Twins Hiters to Target

Elite Options -Max Kepler, Eduardo Escobar

Secondary Options – Brian Dozier, Eddie Rosario

Twins Probable Starter – Lance Lynn, RHP

7.47 ERA, 2.04 WHIP and 22.8 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .351 average, .446 wOBA, 19.1 fly ball rate and 40.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .287 average, .372 wOBA, 33.3 fly ball rate and 44.4 hard contact rate

At some point, Lynn is going to throw a really solid game and annoy a lot of people who look at his metrics and stack against him. There’s at least a chance of that because one thing caught my eye in this matchup. I assumed I’d go running towards Leonys Martin and Nicholas Castellanos. However, they both have a negative rating against the fastball, which Lynn throws nearly 80 percent of the time.

The best player the Tigers have against the pitch is John Hicks but paying $3,00 for him on this slate may or may not be viable. Lynn is a crazy dart throw and I might be under the field as far as Tigers tonight.

Tigers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – John Hicks

Secondary Options – Nicholas Castellanos, Leonys Martin

Home Run Pick – Niko Goodrum

Giants at Astros

Giants Probable Starter – Andrew Suarez, LHP

4.88 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 25.0 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .171 average, .212 wOBA, 36.0 fly ball rate and 30.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .333 average, .426 wOBA, 34.6 fly ball rate and 50.9 hard contact rate

I have a ton of interest in Houston bats but it’s going to be difficult to fit them in with their teammate, who we’ll get to in a minute. The one player who I will not pay for right now is Jose Altuve. He can break out at any moment but he’s also 10th on the Astros in wOBA against lefties. George Springer and Carlos Correa are the cheapest I can remember against lefty pitcher and it’s hard to not love them at that price. They still might be difficult to fit too many of them and I might side with Correa because shortstop is harder to fill than the outfield slots.

Astros Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Carlos Correa, George Springer

Secondary Options – Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Max Stassi(if he plays)

Astros Probable Starter – Gerrit Cole, RHP

1.75 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 40.8 strikeout percentage

Vs LHH – .162 average, .207 wOBA, 47.8 fly ball rate and 29.8 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .168 average, .244 wOBA, 46.5 fly ball rate and 40.3 hard contact rate

Cole is the cash pitcher of the night and is almost locked into my lineup. I want absolutely no Giants bats and will have Cole all over the place tonight. His average start has been worth about 54 points and he’s been as consistent as they come. He’s definitely my number one pitching option with a bullet point.

Giants Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – None

Home Run Pick – George Springer
