Royals at Cardinals

Royals Probable Starter – Jason Hammel, RHP

6.28 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 11.4 strikeout rate

Vs LHH -.268 average, .350 wOBA, 48.1 fly ball rate and 50.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .295 average, .337 wOBA, 30.6 fly ball rate and 39.6 hard contact rate

Hammel is really bad in any format tonight and he should struggle with the Cardinals lineup. There’s not many Cardinals that I don’t like but Matt Carpenter might be one of them. He’s finally coming around with a hot few days but his price jumped up to $3,400 tonight. Tommy Pham, Jose Martinez and Marcell Ozuna are good values for their respective price points and it’s also hard to ignore how hot Tyler O’Neil is right now. He’s a premier salary saver agains tonight.

Cardinals Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Tommy Pham, Jose Martinez, Tyler O’Neil

Secondary Options -Matt Carpenter, Marcell Ozuna, Jedd Gyorko

Cardinals Probable Starter – Luke Weaver, RHP

4.37 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 21.7 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .301 average, .339 wOBA, 35.8 fly ball rate and 23.5 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .182 average, .236 wOBA, 40.0 fly ball rate and 27.8 hard contact rate

Weaver came out of nowhere to score 40 points against the Phillies in his last start but I just can’t get on board with him yet. It would also seem to be counter productive to target righty bats so we’ll stick with the lefties. Mike Moustakas is the best play from the Royals lineup tonight and you can sprinkle in Jon Jay if you need the savings. Other than that, I really can’t see using this side of the game too much.

Elite Options – Mike Moustakas

Secondary Options – Jon Jay

Home Run Pick – Tommy Pham

Mariners at A’s

Mariners Probable Starter – Mike Leake, RHP

6.00 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 15.0 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .300 average, .363 wOBA, 33.0 fly ball rate and 37.1 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .296 average, .387 wOBA, 34.2 fly ball rate and 39.0 hard contact rate

The A’s are a good offense and they should be able to beat up on Mike Leake without much of an issue. It looks like the wheels are coming off for Leake and what’s interesting is how to fit some A’s in the lineup tonight. Jed Lowrie, Matt Chapman, Matt Olson and Matt Joyce are all rock solid plays. Khris Davis might miss this game but is fine if he suits up. Don’t sleep on Dustin Fowler either because he’s still cheap and could possibly lead off.

A’s Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Jed Lowrie, Dustin Fowler, Matt Olson

Secondary Options – Matt Chapman, Matt Joyce, Khris Davis

A’s Probable Starter – Trevor Cahill, RHP

2.79 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 28.6 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .159 average, .202 wOBA, 23.1 fly ball rate and 44.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .246 average, .321 wOBA, 20.5 fly ball rate and 51.1 hard contact rate

I might actually have to give Cahill a look tonight, especially if Nelson Cruz is still out of the lineup. He doesn’t give up a lot of fly balls and does have some strikeout upside. The Mariners don’t strikeout a ton but they are missing Robinson Cano at the very least. This is a spot where you play Cahill or stack top the Mariners because it’s going to be too hard to try and figure out one player to hit a home run. Cahill’s up there with Caleb Smith as my third favorite pitcher so far.

Mariners Hitters to Target

Elite Options – None

Secondary Options – Dee Gordon, Jean Segura, Mitch Haniger

Home Run Pick – Matt Olson
