Jaren Jackson Jr. is the ideal big man to thrive in today’s NBA. The real question is which team can best utilize his unique set of skills.

A few years ago, Jaren Jackson Jr. might have been called a “tweener” by NBA executives. Now, he has the perfect size and athleticism to play as either a power forward or center. His ability to switch, block shots and possibly become an adequate 3-point shooter has the attention of scouts all around the Association.

Of course, it must be said that he wasn’t the most productive player in college basketball last season. Jackson Jr. only managed 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He did play for a well-balanced Michigan State squad but that doesn’t explain his inability to take over games. Some NBA teams will have serious questions about just how impactful the versatile big man can become on the offensive end of the floor.

There can’t be any questions about his potential on the defensive end. He averaged an incredible three blocks per game despite only playing 21.8 minutes. If he can curtail his propensity to foul opponents needlessly, that number could continue to climb at the next level.

Jackson Jr. also has the ability to switch and guard almost anyone on the floor. You wouldn’t want to leave him alone against the quickest point guards in the league, but he can hold his own against even those elite players on switches. That may be the talent of his that resonates most with teams at this point in the draft process.

The talented big man isn’t a perfect fit for every team, though a lot of franchises with high picks can use a player with his skill set. Read on to discover the five teams that would benefit most by acquiring Jaren Jackson Jr.
