15. Josh Hader

Traded twice before his MLB debut, first by the Baltimore Orioles and then by the Houston Astros, 24-year-old left-hander Josh Hader has been arguably the best reliever in the league and is putting up historic numbers as he works through his first full season in the big leagues. A converted starter who struck out 11.5 per nine in his last full season in the rotation, Hader has gotten nearly 75 percent of his outs for the Milwaukee Brewers via the strikeout and has allowed only five hits in his first 22.0 innings this year.

At his best, Hader is all but unhittable.

Long and lanky, Hader is an imposing presence on the mound with his long, flowing hair and cross-body delivery. He hides his high-nineties fastball well and runs his slider across the whole plate.

That pitch is just ridiculous, and it’s not often that future Hall of Famer Joey Votto has his knees buckled. Hader is the next great left-handed reliever in the Andrew Miller mold and is more than capable of going more than three outs at a time. The Brewers have a special pitcher on their hands in this guy.
