Leonardo Spinazzola (Atalanta)

The left-sided midfielder is a wizard with the ball and part of a new generation of stars coming out of Italy. Spinazzola’s ability to pass and tackle makes him a strong midfielder and a great alternative to Alex Sandro in the starting lineup. He also tracks back when needed, aiding the backline whenever opponents have the ball.

The 25-year-old, who is on loan to Juventus from Atalanta, has made so many strides over the past two seasons that the Bianconeri would be best-suited to bring him back onto the roster. Spinazzola joined Juve in a temporary deal in 2010, where he was assigned to the youth team. In June 2012, Juventus signed him, but he never appeared for them in an official match. Since then, Spinazzolla has played for six different Italian clubs.

Spinazzola even earned a call-up to Italy’s senior side last year and is likely to be part of new coach Roberto Mancini’s selections as it tries to qualify for the 2020 European Championship. In the meantime, he has matured at Atalanta, a team known for highlighting youth players, this past season. Juventus have a vast network of scouts and players loaned out to other Italian teams. It’s time for Spinazzola to get a contract and come home.
