1. Kylian Mbappe

This is the dream.

City are already blessed with many young studs, but this could be the big jewel in the crown. In order to challenge for all major honors, you’re going to have to pay steep prices for big-time players. In Kylian Mbappe, at 19, you’re paying for the best young player on the planet.

Twenty-three goals, 11 assists in all competitions this season proves he’s arrived. And being tipped to be a future Ballon d’Or winner means he ain’t going anywhere anytime soon. He’s got it all, the pace, the trickery with quick feet, sharp runs and exquisite finishing ability.

But what’s been highlighted this campaign has been his displays as a right-winger opposite Neymar, with Edinson Cavani as the number 9. Versatility is key with Guardiola and will no doubt use the young Frenchman as both a central striker and winger.

Now you might ask, how’s Guardiola going to play both Mbappe and Aguero/Jesus? Well, in the beginning of the season, the City boss played the latter pair in a 3-1-4-2 formation. It was a more offensive variation of a 4-3-3, where Walker or John Stones would play as a third center-back, Sane at left wing-back. Fernandinho the defensive midfielder behind De Bruyne and Silva in midfield.

It wreaked havoc and adding Mbappe create even more chaos. The rest of England and Europe will look at City with envy and hatred if the Frenchman joins. This is a transfer that would be more probable on FIFA than in real life. But in today’s soccer landscape, anything is possible.
