White Sox at Tigers

White Sox Probable Starter – James Shields, RHP

4.62 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 15.6 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .173 average, .259 wOBA, 34.1 fly ball rate and 24.4 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .266 average, .316 wOBA, 41.3 fly ball rate and 36.4 hard contact rate

It’s still weird to type this but James Shields hasn’t been as bad as his reputation is. He’s thrown a quality start in four of his last five starts and that’s not generally a pitcher we want to go full stack against. Shields still isn’t usable because I don’t like burning money and my main interest lies with Detroit righties. The exception might be Jeimer Candelario, coming off a monster performance yesterday afternoon. Maybe I wind up regretting this move, but Nicholas Castellanos is the only Tigers hitter I truly want in the lineup today.

Tigers Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Nicholas Castellanos

Secondary Options – Jeimer Candelario

Tigers Probable Starter – Blaine Hardy, LHP

3.46 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 19.3 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .210 average, .309 wOBA, 66.7 fly ball rate and 26.7 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .353 average, .377 wOBA, 52.0 fly ball rate and 37.0 hard contact rate

If you played yesterday’s lineup, you already know Tim Anderson is a lock on this slate. He dropped 50 points and he’s still just $3,000. He’ll surely be chalk but I won’t be on the wrong side of things today if he goes bonkers again. Jose Abreu also was a fantasy stud yesterday and you could argue they’re actually in a better spot today. I don’t expect either player to eclipse the 40 point mark again but the results should still be well worth the price tag. I’m not going to tempt fate and play Hardy today. Things could go horribly south.

White Sox Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu

Secondary Options – Jose Rondon, Matt Davidson

Home Run Pick – Jose Abreu
