14. Arizona (Blue)

Throughout the last few seasons, Arizona’s come under a lot of fire for some alleged recruiting violations in basketball. That’s cast a dark cloud over the athletic program. All things considered, that’s a shame because, amongst all of the negatives surrounding Arizona, there are some positives. Take their football uniforms for example. Year after year, the Wildcats continue to impress fans with stunning uniforms. Although the latest uniform isn’t as stylish as the last, it’s still fashionable.

With their previous uniforms, Arizona had the two colors on the shoulders and in the numbers clash and fade to create a sensual look for jersey lovers. However, this updated uniform has more of a Utah Jazz alternate uniform feel to it. The navy blue and red is constant throughout each and every Wildcats uniform. However, it’s the delivery that makes every single one special.

A few seasons ago, Arizona ditched the traditional navy helmet and incorporated a red one, as well. As a result, the Wildcats began adding more navy to its uniforms but kept the red present. By eliminating neutral colors in their home uniforms, Arizona was able to keep a huge red presence while making the uniform navy. Therefore, their home uniforms — which are primarily navy — have a modern appearance.

All aspects of the uniform’s secondary features are red, most notably the “A” logo on the collar and the two different shades of red on the shoulders. The elimination of neutral colors isn’t something done very often and can be risky, but Arizona managed to pull it off very well.
