10. Northwestern (White)

The final Under Armour uniform and first jersey to crack the top 10 belongs to the Northwestern Wildcats. The Wildcats join a fair amount of teams across the country who made the switch from traditional to modern uniforms over the last few years. Although they still sport the purple jerseys along with the purple helmets with a white “N” inside, alternates have become a lot more common in recent seasons. Despite this, the Wildcats’ most stunning jersey is a spin on a classic.

The interesting and spectacular part of the white jersey which ranks 10 on the list is the unique feature of the jersey. Using white as a base, Northwestern hardly incorporates any color into their jerseys. There are no intricate, unnecessary patterns and that’s the way it’s always been. While most teams slap a line pattern onto the shoulder for some added effects, Northwestern strays away from that. Instead, they use the same pattern in which they used to use on the shoulder, across the stomach. The pattern of purple lines is interrupted by the number across the front and the back, which is filled in with black. Other than that, the jersey is standard; uniform manufacturer logo, school name and conference logo across the chest with numbers on the shoulders. All of which are in purple.

However, it’s the symbolism — intentional or not — that’s the creative masterpiece. Further, the line across the chest can be seen as that wall. Whether or not Under Armour did this on purpose is not known, but it’s a neat little touch for those who know the tale.
