3. Baylor (Grey)

The number three spot belongs to the Baylor Bears, another team who has had their legacy tarnished by controversy. Even though they were one of the FBS’ worst teams last season, not all hope seems lost in Waco. The Bears are seemingly the Oregon of the South. A plethora of different uniform combinations — all of which are stunning — makes this a legitimate claim. Perhaps it’s the unique designs, perhaps it’s the stunning color combination used by the school, but whatever it is, the Bears’ grey jerseys are the third best in college football.

Baylor’s uniforms have always been special, but there are a few factors which help their grey uniforms crack the top three. Due to the dull nature of the grey background and the nearly matte-looking green, the jersey is given a dark appearance. Therefore, by outlining the numbers in dark green on a grey uniform, the gold numbers stand out. Viewers’ eyes are immediately drawn to the golden numbers in the center of the jersey, then allowing eyes to scope outwards to the other aspects of the jersey.

Big 12 logo aside, the rest of the jersey features the school’s dark green color. This includes the school’s name, Nike swoosh and the shoulders/sleeves. One more eye-popping aspect of the uniform is the sleeve and shoulder design. The sleeves are colored completely green while a series of oddly shaped triangles form a pattern slightly off the sleeve. This one-of-a-kind pattern completes the visually stunning work of art that is the Baylor jerseys. There’s a reason Sporting News Magazine readers awarded Baylor best uniforms in 2014.
