One of the cooler parts of Jurassic World Alive is seeing your dinosaurs in the real world with you, so we tell you how to activate its augmented reality features.
Dinosaurs are cool, but as far as we know, the āletās get their DNA and make new onesā conceit of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies canāt work in real life. Jurassic World Alive, the free-to-play dinosaur creating and battling game from Ludia, offers the next best thing by giving you a chance to see the dinos youāve collected interact with the world around you via the magic of augmented reality ⦠but only if you know how.
Turns out itās not as obvious as one might think. Unlike Pokemon GO, the game doesnāt have you hunting dinosaur DNA in AR, possibly because it uses a top-down view for the drone mini-game that wouldnāt make much sense if rendered in augmented reality.
However, you can view any dinosaur on your team or in your collection in AR. Hereās how:
- Tap the āCollectionā icon in the gameās bottom navigation, the one that looks like the Jurassic World logo.
- Tap on the dinosaur youād like to view.
- Youāll see a small āARā in a circle off to the right. Tap on that.
- If you havenāt given the game permission to access the camera on your phone or tablet, youāll have to do that now.
- After a short initialization phase, youāll see a command that says ātap screen to spawn creature.ā You can move your device around a bit until you find the right spot, then tap to place your dinosaur.

- Once placed, you can tap and drag the dino to move it around, or use pinch gestures to make it smaller or larger. There are also buttons at the bottom of the screen that allow you to capture a picture or video. Once youāre done, hit the left arrow to exit AR mode.

Thatās all there is to it. Obviously, the more dinosaurs you add to your Jurassic World Alive collection, the more you can see in AR, so get out there and acquire as many as possible. Good luck!
