2. Sacramento Kings

When he was at Florida, coach Steve Spurrier was fond of saying that if you think you have two quarterbacks, it really means you don’t have one. Dave Joerger should learn the same thing about power forwards.

Despite Sacramento’s repeated attempts to draft their four of the future, it hasn’t worked out for them. Skal Labissiere doesn’t look like a future starter. Harry Giles redshirted last season due to injury. Zach Randolph isn’t anyone’s idea of a long-term answer at the position.

Upon being drafted, Bagley could immediately become the starter. More importantly, the Kings do have one center who could serve as a good partner for him. Willie Cauley-Stein’s ability to move his feet and block shots would greatly reduce the pressure heaped on Bagley’s defense. Cauley-Stein has his own issues on offense, but that’s where Bagley could help cut him some slack.

The real question is whether or not Sacramento is willing to take Bagley at No. 2. The answer is probably not. Bagley will be a much better choice for the Kings if they elect to move down to accrue more draft assets. Stranger things have happened with Vlade Divac in charge.
