10. Go for Gin’s derby dish

One of the best things to do with a Trophy of this magnitute is spread the wealth. Whether that means inviting all your friends over to a party, sharing it with your hometown or using it to feed the local prize winning horse before the Belmont Stakes.

When the New York Rangers won the Stanley Cup in 1994, Eddie Olczyk brought the Cup down to the races and let Kentucky Derby winner “Go for Gin” eat oats out of the bowl. A nice gesture for a horse who definitely doesn’t understand what hockey is, I guess.

While I have never been more jealous of an animal, it did make for a cool picture:

Unfortunately, the added motivation would not help Go for Gin, as the horse lost the Belmont Stakes to Tabasco Cat (great name), who also topped him in the Preakness that year.

Still, though, an iconic moment for both the trophy and the horse, and something that is no longer allowed by the Cup’s management.
