Bryan Colangelo has been accused of using five different Twitter accounts to tweet his honest opinions on players like Joel Embiid and other sensitive information.

In a report released yesterday by The Ringer’s Ben Detrick, five different Twitter accounts are linked to 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo. Earlier this year, we had the leak of Kevin Durant’s burner account where he posted positive content about himself. However, these accounts are different.

They have negative content about the 76ers players and past personnel, namely Sam Hinkie. Tweets about Joel Embiid have ranged from saying he’s worse than Kristaps Porzingis to saying he isn’t the face of the franchise. In regards to Hinkie, one of the accounts took a direct shot at the fact that Hinkie is no longer working in the NBA.

However, none of this is confirmed. In a statement from Colangelo, he claims to have only used the @phila1234567 account to monitor the industry. This is the one account that hasn’t tweeted anything, so if that is true he will be in the clear.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Colangelo has called Joel Embiid already to tell him that this story isn’t true. Embiid seems to believe Colangelo, or at least acknowledge that he has to.

Through the course of the evening, NBA Twitter detectives did their work in trying to expose Colangelo. In through looking through the old tweets of one account, it appears to live tweet the games of Colangelo’s son. Then, there is the case of the phone numbers. 3 of the accounts all have phone numbers that end in 91. Having the same phone number would imply that they are linked. Although, that being said, the one confirmed account, has a phone number, which has been confirmed as a Colangelo phone number, that ends in 75.

The 76ers have decided to launch a investigation into Colangelo’s Twitter activities, outside of those of NBA Twitter. We will just have to wait and see what truths are to the story. For now, enjoy the jokes making their way around Twitter, even by Daryl Morey and Mark Cuban.
