Chris Paul has reportedly already begun recruiting of LeBron James
The Houston Rockets lost to the Golden State Warriors in heartbreaking fashion. Rockets guard Chris Paul, who was injured in Game 6 and 7, has reportedly begun recruiting LeBron James for next season.
The Houston Rockets collapsed to lose the Western Conference Finals in seven games to the Golden State Warriors. Spurred by the Warriors iconic third-quarter runs, the Rockets wilted in the last two games. In both games, the Rockets squandered double-digit first-half leads.
One of the primary causes was that Chris Paul didn’t play in Game 6 or 7 after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Game 5 win. Nevertheless, Paul has elected to let frustration go, reportedly setting his sights on recruiting LeBron James for next season, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.
"Don’t get me wrong: There will still be plenty of talk over the next two weeks about what James will do July 1 and the growing belief that he’ll be leaving his home-state Cavaliers this offseason to join a team better suited to consistently challenge Golden State. Rest assured that the Rockets’ understandably devastated Chris Paul — who made a fast exit from Toyota Center late Monday night after being forced to watch the biggest game of his life from the bench because of his hamstring injury — has already begun his recruitment of James to Houston."

The addition of James will aid Houston in the case that injury or inconsistent play plagues the Rockets again, and give the team an even greater shot to dethrone the Warriors next season. James is already facing an uphill battle facing the Warriors for the fourth consecutive NBA Finals. If James loses to the Warriors again, it could prompt him to want to link up with Harden and Paul. Kevin Durant’s signing to the Warriors has prompted NBA fans to prepare for anything with free agency.
