Bring people together through dinosaurs

Augmented reality games have a ton of potential to unite the people playing them through something they enjoy, but we haven’t seen much of it fulfilled just yet. Too often, especially in their early stages, these games depend on players organizing via outside channels, which can still happen if they form strong communities but always seems like a missed opportunity.

Jurassic World Alive continues this trend, as it’s not a very social experience at all at launch. Sure, you might see other players out walking around, and it’s definitely a lot of fun to share pics and video of your dinosaurs with the augmented reality feature, something content creators are already finding creative ways to do.

But the game needs more than that. It needs group events that band people together, whether it’s to fight packs of dinos too tough to handle solo or something else we can’t even fathom. It could use some kind of in-game chat, or at least a friend system, so you can connect with other players, particularly if they are your real world friends. There should be ways to make this happen, and we’re hoping it does in time.
