Mets at Braves

Mets Probable Starter – Jason Vargas, LHP

10.62 ERA, 2.16 WHIP and 20.2 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .348 average, .493 wOBA, 47.4 fly ball rate and 31.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .371 average, .449 wOBA, 35.3 fly ball rate and 39.6 hard contact rate

When I said earlier the Nationals and Angels were one of the best non-Rockies stacks out there, they’re all fighting for third place because the Braves are the best stack on the slate that’s not in Denver. In all honesty, they might be the best stack flat out. Vargas has been completely awful all season long and the Braves are built to destroy lefties. Most players will run to the righties and they should be the lefties are just as appealing. Freddie Freeman is close to $4,000 and there’s literally not a Brave I wouldn’t play. I guarantee that I will have at least one entry with four Braves in it. Dansby Swanson is attractive as a cheap option regardless of what type of lineup you’re rolling out there tonight.

Braves Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Nick Markakis, Dansby Swanson

Secondary Options – Kurt Suzuki or Tyler Flowers, Johan Carmago

Braves Probable Starter – Julio Teheran, RHP

4.20 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 20.6 strikeout rate

Vs LHH – .210 average, .320 wOBA, 48.0 fly ball rate and 41.6 hard contact rate

Vs RHH – .220 average, .327 wOBA, 42.7 fly ball rate and 32.2 hard contact rate

Regression finally started to come for Teheran these past three starts as he hasn’t gone over 25 points in any of them. When looking at his metrics, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. His velocity on his pitches has been down as well and the fly ball rate and hard contact rate are things we almost always try to target. The one thing holding me back from loving Mets hitters tonight is the fact that Teheran has historically owned this team. Current Mets hitters have a collective .200 average against Teheran with just 13 extra base hits in 160 at-bats. Those numbers mean something when the teams see each other so often. Brandon Nimmo is the most attractive hitter form the Mets squad tonight.

Mets Hitters to Target

Elite Options – Brandon Nimmo, Asdrubal Cabrera

Secondary Options – Michael Conforto, Devin Mesoraco

Home Run Pick – Freddie Freeman
