Numerous coaches listed here came about because of their track record in previous years, but this head coach doesn’t quite fit the bill in that category. Not to say that the head coach of the LSU Tigers, Ed Orgeron, can’t have a great tenure in Baton Rouge, LA.

However, Orgeron is one of those coaches that every media outlet loves to interview, and everyone loves to get a reaction out of. His tendencies are well-noted between his charismatic ability to rally local fans and his caffeinated ways of getting the energy flowing.

All of these factors lead up to the microscope still falling on a huge football program like LSU. Even before Orgeron, LSU had some fun head coaches between Les Miles and Nick Saban. Yet, it was the departure of Miles that paved the way for Orgeron’s tenure in Baton Rouge. His ultimate legacy is yet to be known here.

Orgeron had found success in previous places, especially in a very limited opportunity with the USC Trojans. However, LSU is a very tough place to excel due to the level of competition in the SEC West. We’ll see how this well-known head coach is able to do in what is still the early stage of the Orgeron-era with LSU.
