Green Bay Packers: Josh Jackson vs. Tramon Williams

The Green Bay Packers failed to make the playoffs last season, but really, it was to be expected after Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone. A favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl going into the season, the Packers could not get it done on offense without Rodgers, but they won’t have that problem in 2018.

Rodgers is back healthy, and while he is not happy with some of the moves the team has made this offseason, his return will bring the Packers back to the top of the NFC North. On defense, the team knew they had to do something to improve the secondary this offseason, and they did just that in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

After getting rid of Demarious Randall early in the offseason, the Packers used two first round picks on cornerbacks in April. They drafted Josh Jackson from Iowa, and Jaire Alexander from Louisville, both of which are really going to help this secondary moving forward.

When it comes to Jackson, he could challenge Tramon Williams for a starting spot in 2018. Williams played extremely well in a reserve role for the Arizona Cardinals last season, but it remains to be seen whether or not he can be a starting corner in this league for an extended period of time.

While Jackson is a rookie, he did lead the FBS in interceptions last year, and the Packers could certainly use some of that action in 2018. This secondary needs to be better if they are going to beat some of the heavy-hitters in the NFC, and Jackson could find himself in the starting lineup in Week 1.
