Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Wallace vs. Markus Wheaton

The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the world last season, when they beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl with a backup quarterback under center. Nick Foles took over for Jared Goff late in  the regular season, and not only did he lead them to the best record in the NFC, but ended up being the Most Valuable Player of the Super Bowl against the Pats.

In 2018, Carson Wentz will likely be back early from injury, though he did blow out his knee, and those kinds of injuries usually keep a player out a calendar year. If Wentz cannot go, they know they have a legitimate weapon in Foles, and he will make a ton of money as long as he is in the starting lineup.

Last season, the Eagles went out and grabbed Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in the offseason, as they looked to add more weapons to the passing game. This offseason, the team traded Smith away to the Carolina Panthers, so a battle will rage on as to who replaces him on the depth chart for the upcoming season.

Mike Wallace and Markus Wheaton are two guys who have a lot of experience in the NFL, and they will be a training camp battle to keep an eye on. Both bring a little something different when it comes to the passing game, and either would love to be that third wide receiver alongside Jeffery and Nelson Agholor.

Philadelphia is stacked again in 2018, and it is very likely that they are going to make a deep run in the playoffs. Wallace has accomplished more during his  time in the NFL, so I give him the nod to start OTAs and minicamp, but Wheaton is a guy who was productive early in his career when he got playing time, so do not count him out.
