New York Giants — Nick Foles

Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt and given the way Dave Gettleman and the Giants approached this offseason, it might as well be the Hudson River. Clearly New York wants to go for it in 2018 with 37-year-old Eli Manning.

Good luck with that.

But after the 2018 season, the Manning contract has just $6.2 million in dead cap and cutting him would save over $17 million. The Giants didn’t want to rebuild with a quarterback in the draft, so why would they want to go young in a post-Manning world?

Foles would allow them to remain competitive with a 30-year-old signal caller with a Super Bowl ring to his name. Getting to steal him from a division rival would just be frosting on the cake. If I could make this deal right now for the Giants I would. Foles is already better than Manning at this point in his career.

At worst, Foles could serve as a bridge for 2018 rookie Kyle Lauletta from Richmond.
