Oakland Raiders — Le’Veon Bell

This is happening right? Marshawn Lynch is cooked and Oakland already brought in also-washed Doug Martin this offseason. Jon Gruden loves Bell—though at this point he’s said glowing things about every player in the league so who can really tell?—and Pittsburgh appears weary of Bell’s insistence he be paid market value (how horrible).

So if the Steelers aren’t giving him a long-term deal and don’t want to franchise him again, Bell will hit the open market where the Raiders will have over $32 million to spend, good for 10th in the league in available cap space.

Jordy Nelson may not have more than a year left and who knows what Martavis Bryant can really give this offense, but the addition of each this offseason suggests Gruden is willing to take a flyer on talent.

Bell is nowhere near as old as Nelson, nor as problematic a personality as Bryant, which makes him a much easier sell to Mark Davis, as if that’s something he’d need to do. Derek Carr has been a boom-or-bust quarterback most of his career, throwing screens and dump offs or taking deep shots. This offense would be ideally suited for such a skill set with Bryant and Cooper taking teams deep and Bell getting to work underneath where he’s so dangerous.
