Washington Redskins — Earl Thomas

Tell me this isn’t a Dan Snyder move. Who cares where Washington is with the cap, even if they’re more than $6 million over it for 2019 at this point.

Washington plays a defense that could serve Thomas’ skills well, and we know Snyder has a penchant for overspending his means to get a star player. Thomas may or may not be a star player at this point (or at least may no longer play at his previous superstar level) but he’s still a big name potentially on the market.

Don’t be surprised to see Thomas moved before the trade deadline so Seattle doesn’t lose him for nothing. This could end up being his trade partner this fall.

Washington had a chance to tab Derwin James in the draft and decided to go with Da’Ron Payne. This defense still needs some playmaking in the secondary and Josh Norman has a similar game to former Thomas running mate Richard Sherman. By hook or by crook, Snyder is going to give it a go trying to bring Thomas to the D.C. area.
