Detroit Lions – Kenny Golladay
For a wide receiver, any time you have Matthew Stafford as your quarterback, good things are usually in store. Such is the case for second-year Lions wideout Kenny Golladay, who is looking to build on a solid rookie campaign.
Golladay, a third-round selection out of Northern Illinois, turned heads early in the preseason with this incredible touchdown catch and figures to be in line for an even more significant role in the Detroit offense this season. Golladay finished the seasons with 28 receptions for 477 yards and three touchdowns despite missing significant time with a hamstring injury.
One positive note for Golladay is the retention of offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter to lead the Detroit offense under new head coach Matt Patricia. Under the direction of Cooter, the Lions finished in the top ten in the NFL in both passing yards and points per game last season.
The Lions should also stand to benefit from several additions on offense, including tight ends Luke Willson and Levine Toilolo, as well as rookie running back Kerryon Johnson. If they’re able to show an improved running game, plenty of big-play opportunities could be had for a player like Golladay.
