Arsene Wenger (out of work)

The former Arsenal is out of work and he knows what he’s doing at such a high level. Wenger got lots of hate from fans in the last few years because of the team’s inability to win titles and big games. Nonetheless, Wenger is a quality manager and the sort of big name Real Madrid would sign.

Wenger’s tactics have evolved over the decades. At Real, he could bring back some of the formations that brought him the most success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. At the time, Wenger’s team featured a 4-4-2 lineup, featuring two holding midfielders and a deep-lying forward. Those teams had Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, some of the best players of their generation.

This Real team also featured a star-studded roster. Under Wenger, Real could feature Isco, an attacking midfielder, into a more defensive role with strikers such as Ronaldo and Karim Benzema having to do more on their own. Wenger would also shore up the defense and keep a tough defender like Sergio Ramos in check. He’d be a controversial choice, but not totally out of the question.
