3. Bayern Munich

This is very unlikely but hear us out. Bayern are still a huge European power, and are by far the best club in Germany. With less league games than Spain, a domestic cup (DFB Pokal) that’s taken more seriously than in Spain — yes more than the Copa Del Rey — and a winter break that gives players plenty of time to rest, Germany seems like an ideal landing spot for an injury-prone player.

Bale can obviously make the grade in Munich, and will join former Madrid teammate James Rodriguez. Will he get along with Niko Kovac? Who knows, but Bale will want to be viewed as a superstar. So far in Madrid, he’s more of a super-sub that can make an instant impact.

Bayern will build the team around Bale, and he will no doubt flourish in that 4-3-3 formation. But with superstars come big prices and it’ll take some heavy lifting to bring Bale to Munich. Maybe a swap deal involving Robert Lewandowski and cash?
