5. Kyle Anderson

Anderson quietly established himself as a key piece for the San Antonio Spurs the past two seasons with his versatility and defensive skill. He was among the best individual defenders on both LeBron James and Kevin Durant during the regular season and was estimated by ESPN’s Real Plus-Minus to be one of the most impactful defenders overall.

Anderson splits time between both forward positions, which could create a fair bit of overlap with Hollis-Jefferson, but this year’s playoffs have demonstrated that a wealth of versatile and defensive-minded wings are a pre-requisite for contention. He’s a good passer and rebounder, and generates plenty of steals and blocks. He also found his niche as a finished this season but outside shooting will be a question mark. Anderson is a 33.8 3-point shooter for his career and was only slightly better if you just consider catch-and-shoot attempts.

Anderson is a restricted free agent this summer and it remains to be seen what it will take to pry him away from San Antonio, especially if the Spurs also have to move Kawhi Leonard this summer. Still, Anderson could undoubtedly help Brooklyn next season, if the price is right.
