Bargain drivers (salary below $9,000)

Matt Kenseth ($8,000) – There are plenty of reasons not to play Kenseth, but you’re getting a guy who ran pretty darn well here in the past, albeit in better equipment, and the bargain tier looks like a crapshoot this weekend anyway. Should be settling in a little since this is his fourth race (counting the All-Star Race) with the 6 team.

Alex Bowman ($7,400) – Really tough to know what to expect from him, but he has at least run this race in a Cup Series car before. Prefer him to William Byron, for what it’s worth.

Chris Buescher ($6,600) – You can look it up if you don’t believe it, but Buescher is a former winner at Pocono — just not with his current team and in the July race, not this one. Where else will you find that kind of experience this far down the salary list? Nowhere, that’s where.

Cole Custer ($5,000) – Normally you’d want to stay far, far away from someone making his second career Cup Series start at the Tricky Triangle, but Custer looked good in the XFINITY Series race and he’s super cheap. Could be worth a roll of the dice if you’re loading up with expensive salaries for your other spots.
