Major League Baseball is gifted with immeasurable talent in its starting staffs, but which one is the best in the entire league?

You know something? It’s a great time to be a baseball fan. We’re in an age of baseball where there is an extreme amount of talent on both sides of the ball.

There’s an ongoing list of stars on the offensive side of things. Guys like Mike Trout continue to set the standards of greatness, while emerging youngsters appear on the road to stardom seemingly every day.

But, don’t forget about the area that sets apart the good and the great teams; starting pitching.

It’s the game most important commodity. Good, even great offenses, can only carry a team so far. A great staff can make up for sometimes inconsistent offenses.

Now, you may ask, what qualifies as a truly ‘great’ rotation? Well, a few things. A few questions must be asked.

We’re not going to look at win/loss records as the ultimate factor, as they aren’t the best way of measuring pitchers success. Rather, we’ll look at earned run average’s, WHIP, batting average against and innings pitched. Of course, we’ll take into consideration other factors like WAR and pure talent.

Again, keep in mind that this is a ranking of the best rotations in baseball as it stands right now. If a given starter had a few great years and has trailed off, that doesn’t mean that his staff will be higher up on the list.

With this being said, grab your popcorn and strap in. Lets dive in.
