19. Minnesota Twins

They aren’t talked about much, but the Minnesota Twins are an exciting team. They’ve got a lot of young talent all over the field.

On the mound every fifth day, one of their brightest pieces takes the mound; Jose Berrios. He’s looked right about the same as last season, but his strikeout numbers are looking better this year (67 K through 68.2 IP).

As a team, Minnesota’s starters have combined for the leagues 14th best ERA (4.14). Additionally, its starters have combined to strikeout the 12th most in the league (279).

In his first season with the Twins, Jake Odorizzi has been making management pretty happy. All he’s done so far is produce. While he’s walking batters more, but he’s had six starts with one run or less allowed.

Kyle Gibson has done exceptionally well this season after a tough 2017 campaign. Like Odorizzi, his walk numbers are up, but his strikeout numbers have increased (66 through 63 IP).

Offseason pickup Lance Lynn has gotten off to a brutal start in the Twin Cities, but the rest of the rotation has bailed him out. He’s walked 33 batters through 50 innings, which isn’t ideal considering the rotations walk problems as whole.

If Lynn can’t find his best stuff, the rotation that has held hitters to a .241 average should do just fine.
