Legion Chapter 18 synopsis

This week’s episode of Legion sounds like a whole lot of fun.

Legion on FX is freshly renewed for a season 3 but still has a couple of “chapters” left in season 2. A fight has been building between David and Amahl Farouk (the Shadow King) all year, and it might finally happen.

With two episodes left, Legion still has a number of loose ends to tie up and a few characters who seriously need to be rescued. I get that Melanie’s whole life work went out the window when Oliver was possessed, but she has become a total non-factor. And that’s really too bad, because in the first season she was the steadying presence on the show. She wasn’t afraid to take charge, but most of that has unfortunately disappeared.

Anyway, judging by the synopsis of the episode, “Chapter 18” should be pretty action-packed. It READS:

"Reunion, ruination, and rage."

So, who’s going to be reuniting with whom, what’s being ruined, and who’s angry?

The reunion will probably be between David and the rest of the team. He ran away a few episodes ago and started moving pieces into place for this ultimate conflict. But nothing substantial has happened yet. It could also be a reunion between David and Farouk, Melanie and Oliver, or even David and Amy — though I’m not totally sure how that last one would work.

And there’s got to be plenty of rage coming from all sides. Oliver already promised to kill Farouk, so did David (after he found out about Amy’s death.) I’m sure Melanie, if she actually wakes up, has plenty of rage herself. So a meeting between any of them really could dissolve into violence. In the PROMO, you get a look at what this could be, with David maybe trying to drill Farouk out of Oliver’s head. I don’t think that’s quite going to work, but it looks like they’re on the astral plane, rather than in the real world, so maybe it’s different?
