Cloak & Dagger is set to hit Freeform to satisfy your Marvel fix for the summer, and we tell you how to catch the two-episode premiere event live.
Don’t know Cloak & Dagger? Get ready to change that in a big way.
The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV series to arrive is coming to us on Freeform, and it’s the story of two teenagers who are connected by a tragedy from their past, but also by their uniquely linked powers and undeniable attraction to each other. Cloak & Dagger should provide the kind of coming of age drama that Freeform does best, albeit one that happens to have characters who can do incredible things.
It will also be interesting to see how closely linked the series is to the rest of the MCU. Will there be references to Agents of SHIELD, which airs on Freeform’s sister network, ABC? Or could there even be mentions of the Marvel Studios films, which shook things up earlier this year with a small, art house movie you might have heard of called Avengers: Infinity War?
The Marvel Netflix series seem like less of a possibility since they all revolve around New York City while Cloak & Dagger is set in New Orleans. And in the end, none of this might matter, because the advance buzz suggests that the show is plenty enjoyable on its own merits, which would give Marvel fans yet another property to dig into over the summer months.
With that in mind, let’s check out how to watch the series premiere, “First Light,” live on Thursday night. Also, we should point out that the second episode, “Suicide Sprints,” will air directly after the premiere, though the series will go to just one episode a week for the rest of its 10-episode run.
Date: Thursday, June 7
Start time: 8:00 p.m.
Episode title: “First Light;” followed by the second episode, “Suicide Sprints”
TV channel: Freeform
Live stream: Watch online (cable subscription required), or through the Freeform app
