MLB DFS Bargain Bin- Tout Transparency Report for Wednesday, June 6th
MLB DFS Bargain Bin’s Tout Transparency Report
Welcome to the inaugural edition of the MLB DFS Bargain Bin’s Tout Transparency Report.
A missing component for many DFS players is review and reflection. There’s always benefit to going back and evaluating the overall performance of your selections, as important lessons and trends can be gleaned from that process over time. Naturally, the same applies when making lineup recommendations.
Therefore, in the interest of transparency, I’ll do a quick review after each day in which I suggest value plays to see what went right, and what didn’t exactly work out as planned.
Of Wednesday’s originally suggested value plays, both the Red Sox’s Brock Holt and the Rangers’ Adrian Beltre were ultimately left out of their respective team’s starting lineups.
While the omission of Holt wasn’t completely unexpected given what would have been a same-handed matchup against the Tigers’ Blaine Hardy, Beltre’s exclusion was much more out of the blue, especially since he just returned from the disabled list less than a week ago.
As a result of these two developments, I made pivot suggestions later in the day via Twitter (@jcblanco22) to the Angels’ Ian Kinsler at second base and the White Sox’s Yolmer Sanchez at third base.
Without further ado, let’s see how all of yesterday’s picks ultimately graded out!
MLB DFS Bargain Bin’s Tout Transparency Report
Best Value(s):
Kinsler, Lowrie provide pop, Santiago offers value– Kinsler ultimately served as the best value among yesterday’s hitters, putting the screws to the ball on two occasions on his way to a double and two-run home run.
Over in Arlington, Yahoo-only special Jed Lowrie was one of the few Athletics to take advantage of the hitter-friendly conditions, once again outpacing a very modest price with a pair of two-baggers of his own.
And while far from prolific in terms of his overall return, Hector Santiago certainly didn’t hurt you at his significantly discounted price, even picking up the road win after five serviceable innings.
Biggest Dud(s):
Pillar falls victim to stellar pitching– Kevin Pillar was the only one of the main suggested plays to come up completely empty, as the Blue Jays and Yankees played to a rather mystifying scoreless tie well into extra innings.
What follows is the official fantasy-point breakdown for each value play I’d suggested for Wednesday, June 6th:
