The Golden State Warriors captured their third title in four years, and they made this one look pretty easy.

The Golden State Warriors almost didn’t make the Finals this season. They trailed 3-2 to the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals. The Cavs almost bit the dust to the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals trailing 3-2 as well.

Nevertheless we ended up with the same NBA Finals matchup that we’ve had for the past three seasons, and just like 2015 and 2017 the Warriors came out on top.

The Cavs almost stole Game 1 from the Warriors. George Hill who’s a career 80 percent free throw shooter was at the line with a chance to give the team a one point lead with just under five seconds left in regulation.

He made the first and missed the second, and the J.R. Smith committed the biggest mental gaffe in possibly NBA history by pretty much running to the scorers table with the score tied. Smith claimed he thought they were ahead, but boy who knew it was that hard to just take a quick peek at the scoreboard. From there it was all Golden State.

All’s well that ends well for the Golden State Warriors as they came into Game 4 with a mentality of not wanting to play a Game 5 at home, and stepped on the Cavs throat and never let up.

The Warriors will take home their third title in four years. And to think the Rockets could have prevented this.
