MLB DFS Picks: Batted Ball Stats
Dexter Fowler – DK $3300, FD $3600
Dexter Fowler has not had a hot start to the month of June, as he’s failed to reach fantasy value in every game since the first of the month. However, Fowler is a tremendous value play on DraftKings tonight, as he only cost $3300. While his fantasy production has been lackluster, his batted ball stats indicate that he may actually be playing better than his numbers would have you think. In the last 15 days, his batted ball distance has remained the same, his exit velocity is up 4 MPH, and his hard hit percentage is up 23%, over his yearly average.
MLB DFS Picks: Batter Splits

MLB DFS Picks: Justin Upton – DK $4300, $3900
If you have the salary to spend up, consider Justin Upton, who draws an attractive matchup against the lefty, Wade LeBlanc. Upton is much better against left handed pitching, with a .456 wOBA split (.107 better than when facing a righty) and a .377 ISO split (.152 better than when facing a righty). Upton has had a tremendous few weeks at the plate, homering in four games since the beginning of the month.
MLB DFS Picks: Lorenzo Cain – DK $4200, FD $3700
Lorenzo Cain is another righty that will derive value from his matchup against a lefty. Cain will face off against lefty, Jose Quintana. Cain is much better against left handed pitching, with a .438 wOBA split (.104 better than when facing a righty) and a .241 ISO split (.129 better than when facing a righty). Cain also has stolen base upside, as he’s stolen 12 bases this year.
MLB DFS Picks: Line Movement
MLB DFS Picks: Joe Musgrove – DK $8500 , FD $7500
Joe Musgrove will draw the start tonight for the Pirates, as they take on the Arizona Diamondback. Arizona opened as a -160 home favorite, but has since fallen to -144. In addition to the movement on the side, the total has also dropped. The game total opened at 8 runs, but has dropped a half of a run, to 7.5 runs.
This combination of movement could make Musgrove an interesting play in tournaments. Musgrove has pitched well in his limited starts this year, allowing only four earned runs, over three starts. In the last 15 days, his opposing exit velocity was the 4th lowest among pitchers on tonight’s slate, at 89 MPH and his hard hit percentage was also the 4th lowest, at 28%. Given Arizona’s high strikeout rate to righties, Musgrove should have upside as well.
