29. Peru
Like Panama, Peru will be reliant on some experienced pros to make the difference. The main threat will undoubtedly be versatile Lokomotiv Moscow attacker Jefferson Farfan.
He’s fresh off a season during which Lokomotiv captured the Russian league title. The 33-year-old still has the pace, range of movement and positional flexibility to punish defenses from the wing or through the middle.
Farfan’s chief line of supply will come from the mercurial mind of Christian Cuevas. The cultured No. 10 possesses the vision and flair to split gaps and create chances against any team.
Cuevas and Farfan will struggle to form a combination prolific enough to help Peru survive Group C. France are the obvious group heavyweights, while Denmark have an underrated batch of talent in their ranks, as do Australia.
