5 athletes we’d love to see grace the cover of EA Sports’ NHL 19

4. Brad Marchand

“This guy is writing about Marchand again? Shocker.” — you, probably.

While you laugh at this suggestion, I’d like to point out that Brad Marchand is coming off of back-to-back 85 point seasons. In the 2017-18 season, he managed to collect 85 in only 68 games. He’s also scored eight game winning goals in each of the last two seasons.

This is not why we want him on the NHL 19 cover.

Brad Marchand is the perfect partner for EA and the NHL if the goal is to spread the love. There have been a lot of bad things and negative energy in the world over the past year, and what better way to turn it around than with this:

It’s 2018. We need more love, more equality and a more progressive attitude and this potential cover checks all of those boxes. If you hate Marchand or find his antics unwatchable, don’t buy the game.

Buy a discounted copy of NHL 18 with that washed-up bum Connor McDavid on it and enjoy it in all its mediocrity. We’ll be over here spreading love and scoring goals with a player who actually takes his team to the playoffs.

If nothing else, they should use this clip in the hype introduction to the game. Embrace it, everyone; the lick was funny. Plus, he’s apologized, so we’re all good.
