2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have been on this list for a long time. They’ve also only been connected with one name. The only name that has made sense since Corey Seager was lost for the year. Manny Machado. The Dodgers have no fear of bringing in big names and Machado is the biggest name out there. With a hole at shortstop for the rest of the year, nobody needs to be displaced to fit Machado in somewhere.

Right now, the Dodgers can justify bringing in Machado. They can justify blowing up their farm system for him now. When they were 16-24 that would be unthinkable. Then, it seemed like doing that would just be wasting the future of the Dodgers to make an attempt at the playoffs in a lost season. Well, now the Dodgers are in second place in the NL West with the best run differential in the division. They top have top-6 offense and a starting pitching staff that can jump into the top-10 from 11th in ERA.

Right now, the Dodgers have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games despite a depleted starting rotation. Currently, Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, and Kenta Maeda are all on the DL. When they get them back, the Dodgers pitching will return to being the top force it has been in recent years.

So, the Dodgers should focus their efforts on bringing in Manny Machado. His .971 OPS would be tops among Dodgers with at least 150 at bats. His presence instantly boosts the Dodgers chances to return to the World Series.
