Texas A&M. Robert Williams III. 13. player. 77. . C

Robert Williams out of Texas A&M makes complete sense for the Los Angeles Clippers at the No. 13 pick. Not only does he share the same alma mater with DeAndre Jordan, he also shares a very similar skill set. Williams could be “the next” DJ and we don’t say that lightly. His athleticism allows him to punish the rim on offense and to be a solid shot blocker on defense. He also possesses a 7-foot-5.5 wingspan, which adds to his shot blocking ability.

What does separate him from Jordan is his ability to actually shoot outside the paint. While he won’t be stepping out to knock down any 3-pointers just yet, Williams could develop a reasonable mid-range jumper. There is some inconsistency in his game to game effort, but under Doc Rivers, who managed to get the most out of DJ, Williams could flourish. Grabbing him here makes sense for not only the future, but for now with Jordan likely entering free agency this summer. Want more on Sexton and Williams? Check out our reasoning on why grabbing both would be a smart move.
