3. Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers

The Miami Marlins traded away three highly-touted outfielders this winter in Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich. Of the trio, Yelich was the only one who had never been selected to the All-Star Game. Despite winning a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger, the honor had eluded the 26-year-old outfielder.

Playing for a first-place team should give Yelich the bump he needs to finally be recognized as an All-Star to go along with his awards. In his first season with the Brew Crew, he is hitting .302/.371/.473 with eight home runs, 28 RBI and seven stolen bases. Yelich has made the transition over to right field to make room for Lorenzo Cain in center field and continues to rate highly as a defender.

Yelich is steady as they come and will never produce eye-popping home-run totals. He is still way down in the voting right now, but should warrant consideration. The race for reserve spots isn’t a popularity contest.

If Yelich does make his first All-Star team, he will no doubt be joined by another Milwaukee first-timer, closer Josh Hader. He has been the best reliever in baseball and is striking out over two batters an inning. Hader is a ridiculously easy pick.
